medan - Day 2

it takes me a month to actually update. Okay i apologized but ohgod the whole october is such a busyyyyyyyy month and nov is coming and i will very very very busy so i decide to write this while i can. so yes second day!

Wake up to beautiful scenery of lake toba is an understatement. the fog the view and verything! Subhanallah. I would stay and just stare for days. But no work no money no travel then hahha.

morning!

my art pointt of view

view from the breakfast place. vast!

serumpun katanya. i like the fried rice very much i have to resist my urge to actually add more

of course coffeeeeeee and dessert for a kick start in the morning!

wake up and having breakfast with heaven like view is not everyday routine while we at it. Enjoy as much as u can. They served buffet in place we stay so yesssssss!

From fried rice to kuew teow? I think they have a big range of food. No western k. Asian k. hahahhaha

so after  breakfast we finally head out to our first big destination.

Danau Toba.

market beside the jetty.

jetty!

its kind scary to board the ferry due to few reasons like scary staircase and everythinng but i managed to board anyway.

The view is amazing! Actually from where we board we can already see the place we are going but yes still need to take ferry keh or you can swim kut?

approaching

first stop. : Danau toba

so as we go on, i will told uolss a little bit la history about this place which i learn from our supir Afaan.

So this lake actually made up of volcanic eruption like ages ago and as you can see its a a very large largeeeeeeeee lake that actually circle a very big portion of medan.

the blue portion is the lakeeee. very big is it?

Its very deep and kinda scary hahha nope. okay nope it's safe okay.

welcome!

where to visit here on the lake!

the traditional house. Rumabuloh

like back in Malaysia we have so many ethnics so do here. So the one who has been living in this place is called batak Toba ethnic and we visit and see how the house here looks like. Looks like minang to me kan?

they have like dolls in front of the house. History said that people here used to ( Ages ago) like use black magic to make the doll dance but nowadays the use strings like puppets.

sounds interesting there.
history learning time!
Gentongan raksasa! sorry but i dont really rmmber about this place.
Makan diraja
We visited makam raja and you know kings name they are very long but the story behind it is very interesting. You gotta ask more.

And reminder : here u have to wear something like sarong on yout shoulder. No worries you didnt have to buy they provide it for you. It's like a symbol of respecting the dead.

this is the most yeah girls and shopping. Our supir recommend few shops and i did buy few keychains.  Here is the trick.

Buy here lols not in the main city because the price will actually double up or even triple in the city especially at the airport. ( i regret this so many times because i keep hesitating because of my budget)

You can see many souviners here ;like dream catchers ( we bought some for a very nice price) , t shirts, key chains or fridge madgets and even their own traditional songket.

and say horas horas pls for more nice prices! Its like greeting their language

I would say i'm very lucky to walk with my brilliant friend so we got the best deal!

bargain time!

and bye bye toba it was very exciting i will surely come again with my kids if the highway is done haha!

Next to berastagi! before that of course, we went for lunch! happy time!

i dont remember the place name. biyane it has been a month and half.  but the lunch as usual was a bless.

love! bye toba!

The ride to Berastagi was very very challenging. I think with my motion sickness i barely sleep and the road was rough and everything. It took like five hours also.

but stops make life better is it.

Second stop :  the thing is my memory is blur right now. now we just called this teh halia place okay!

Good way to stop your nausea or anything like headache.

The view!

the ingredients for the tea. quite massive right!
so here the recipe for the tea!

Serai + gula melaka?+ halia (the main) + cinnamon stick + rempah ratus

Tada!

Warning : it's dem spicy i almost choked and definitely force the wayyy to finish this. Okay just order one cup for all lah. Except you love the way it burns your throat.

fried banana for every cup of tea! sedappppp!

So the journey keeps going on after a cup of tea anddddddd yes long way there and the cloud began to darken.

but we stopped again for the famous waterfall stop.

Third stop, Air terjun Sipisopiso

there you goes.
if i were seventeen, i would like to go the waterfall and dive and yes have some shower. But my feet are aching and i cant hahha.

Okay, but truly it is beautiful but yes our rizki was like five minutes only because it started raining heavily after that.

until we reached Berastagi.

Berastagi. as i remmber it means like delicious rice?

it's like high land, and it's very cold, you dont need aircond and im frozen already like annaaaaaa.

fourth stop : Green Garden Hotel Berastagi.

Ohgod its raining or else i would dive into the pool. Pics later keh haha.

It was like very welcoming and yes sleeeeeeep until dinner. cold and sleep is a great combo after all.

Fifth stop : Resto Puncak

i'm not going to lie this is like haaaaa the most refreshing dinner like what u need on rainy day. perfect taste!

my fav egg soup!

more more

and moreeeeee food coming

delicously!

we were thinking of ordering hotel dinner because of the weather and we kind so tired because of the long ride but thanks god our supir brought us here.

I'm definitely a happy girl that night.
